As you can see, it has some yellow and red load, not prescribed by the XFAI. Then it has this red cross icon that I have no idea what it means and can’t find it in any docs.
Then, with the help of the filters, I found this workout:
It has the perfect load, the perfect focus, even a green tick, but it is however Out of Focus!!
I’m lost here, any idea what can be wrong?
For extra info, I have a goal target of increasing 8 min power by mid february, which according to XFAI is realistic. I’m currently a 2 star and a half athlete, ‘fresh’.
I thought there was an updated article but I’m not finding it.
I posted this a while back –
When I see Pure Endurance I usually select an all-blue workout (<LTP) or free ride monitoring XMB Endurance which defaults to a target watts rage of 75-100% LTP.
Someone time-crunched may want to include some green (tempo/sweetspot) intervals like In The End does.
In your example, 76 XSS in about 1:09 works out to 66 XSS an hour so Moderate Difficulty Rating.
Easy: <45-50 (1 to 1.5 diamonds)
Moderate: 50-75 (2 to 2.5 diamonds)
Difficult: 75-110 (3 to 3.5 diamonds)
Tough: 110-150 (4 to 4.5 diamonds)
Hard: >150 (5 diamonds)
Hi @hyn - yes, there looked to be a bug on your account that we have since patched earlier this week. After resolving the bug in your account, you should notice now that the recommended workouts for each Forecast Placeholder should generally show Good, Optimal Focus!
With our change, I might recommend adapting or re-forecasting your training plan to make sure everything is running as expected
Can I update something myself or is it also “a bug in my account”?
Kind regards
Note: It did well in the past and stopped working I think in the last 2 weeks.
Another Note: Maybe it is connected to my training plan (see image), where a “recreational gran fondo” with 9,5 hours is set as my training goal. I want to do 260km fairly flat and tried setting my goal up the best way possible .
Tap the 136 XSS circle. What ratio is shown?
What does the default workout look like when you select the Magic Buckets workout generator tab?
Or select Autogen, Save to produce a similar workout in Autogen format (3 declining sets with warm-up and cooldown).
@ridgerider2:
The XSS Circle said: 121 Low; 14.2 High; 1.2 Peak.
But as you could see, the recommendation did not match that at all.
I will try around with the Magic Buckets or Autogen the next time.
The good news is, it is working again
My workout today is only 67 XSS all on low and I got a good match.
And tomorrow with 123 Low; 12.8 High; 1.5 Peak also gave me very good matches.
On occasion a recommended entry won’t match the day’s goal because there isn’t a closer match in the Library. That could be due to Duration, Focus, Specificity, or Difficulty. Or a glitch.
When that occurs you can always use the MB generator tab (or Autogen) to create a workout that closely matches the day’s target.
What Program type?
Post a screenshot.
If XATA Continuous you should see a variety of recommended workouts in and around the selected Focus Duration. I.e. variations in stimulus.
If a Base-Build-Peak progression those variations narrow towards target Focus during Peak phase as you approach TED (target event date).
Great questions! Good to see users digging into the software and understanding our approach better. The Weekly Focus is Climber, which means that the overall strain of the week is allocated in a ratio that roughly aligns with 10 min power. It doesn’t necessarily mean that every training session will have a Climber focus
You can see in your second screenshot that the Weekly Focus is shown as Climber! It makes sense that if you have some pure endurance rides & some high intensity rides with a lower focus (GC Specialist) that the weekly focus would be somewhere between the two
The power curve is a continuum.
Focus Durations are relative points along the curve.
Where does your 9-minute power fall?
Your MBG (Magic Buckets Generated) GC Specialist workout (76 | 2.8 | .5) becomes a Climber Focus by lowering Peak points from .5 to .3.
You can experiment and see how this works by selecting the Manual tab option.
Example:
Imagine your week’s activities lumped together and analyzed as one.
What is the overall Focus for that week?
A variety of stimulus points (Focus Durations) contribute to your training.
You could do a Rouleur HIT workout and end up with a Climber Focus for the week if the total Low/High XSS were sufficient to place you there.
Keep in mind a rising tide lifts all boats. You can’t make a mistake by adding more water.
