Yes the xert/strava numbers were perfect.
Thanks for the map info too. I’ll get it downloaded.

Is it possible that it changed to “Indoor”? I had the same issue!
No it was definitely outddor as I checked to confirm. Also my average speed matched my phone which was running the strava app at the same time. There is definitely an issue with the outdoor average speed reading.
For Google Maps, you could also use Bluetooth Hotspot tethering with your regular phone to get connectivity while riding. Using Bluetooth is better than Wifi since it won’t drain your phone’s battery.
Thanks Armando. I’m downloading the maps as I type.
If you don’t download the maps then will it need to use your data allowance to work when outside of WiFi range ( basically most of the time on an outdoor ride) ?
Downloading offline maps is most likely needed for when access to mobile data isn’t available. Data usage is relatively low (not like you’re watching Youtube or something!)
FWIW, I downloaded a rather large region of southern Ontario, which took up less than 140 MB on my KKM 1, just takes maybe a min or so to figure out how large of an area you want stored locally on the device and get it saved for offline use.
Any update on the average speed readings Scott?
Not yet, unfortunately. Holiday weekend, so not much productivity this weekend
It’s been reported and we’ll get it fixed when we can
Where can I find the activities saved when the smartphone is offline?
We figured out the source of the issue and it’s been taken care of. Should be fixed with the next update (update time TBD).
Excellent thanks Scott. Although it’s probably going to be about a week before I get outside again. The weather here in Scotland has taken a turn for the worse.
There shouldn’t be any stored activities once sync occurs.
Without a SIM card that should happen once Wi-Fi is connected and you start EBC.
I doubt you can access the EBC data folder without rooting your phone.
Ok. Thank you.
@ManofSteele Regarding the cell phone to garmin 3M sticker, I was wondering how it fares on bumpy roads?
I have the king kong mini 2 with a 3m garmin mount stuck on it and if you’ve ever ridden the roads here in Scotland you’ll know what bumpy roads are. I also have a lanyard attached but it’s not budged one bit. It’s very solid.
My concern is because the old Android phone I have is a little bit bigger that the KKM / KKM2, which has a 4" screen if I remember correctly.
The screen of the phone I plan to use as a bike computer is 5.1 inches tall.
Because of that, since I have bought a KOM CM06 garmin computer and gopro mount and it is really short (designed for garmin computer or very small phones), I will have to apply the garmin phone adapter 3M sticker a little bit to the bottom of the phone.
When riding bumpy roads, I fear the sticker will not be able to hold. That is why I wanted to ask.
@oldcyclist65 Thanks for your quick answer. I think I will try it soon. Adding a lanyard is a very good idea and I will try to figure out how I can add one to my phone.
For any newbies out there here’s the Quick Start Guide recently posted to the Blog –
The following could be chalked up to user error, but a few workouts ago I had to dial my intensity back a few percentage points so I could finish the ride. To my dismay, this intensity setting did not reset back to 100% next time I started the app. I had done a few workouts before realizing something was amuck. Like I said, sort of user error, but upon reflection I think the app should reset that value when it gets lauched the next time.
