Xert and age

Does or how does Xert take age into account? Indeed our bodies don’t manage effort and recuperation the same way as we age. I am 65 happy with performance still aiming to progress. So just wondering what Xert has devised for the aging athlete’s we are.

Hi Timothy, happy to have you training with us!

Xert doesn’t directly factor an athlete’s age in training recommendations, but I would recommend fine tuning your ‘Recovery Demands’ setting by moving it towards ‘More Recovery’. This will make it a bit easier for you to reach yellow/red status than the default recovery setting, and also keep the training a bit more gradual & less aggressive than the default.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much.

Yes that makes sense I’ll do that.

IME Xert has master’s plan logic built in. It’s called master of your own fate.
Tweak the sliders as needed at any time. If XFAI is in play, recast (update) the plan.
You can also adjust Polarization Level and/or XSSR Preference to meet your needs.
I operate fine with the default settings but occasionally use Freshness Feedback when on XATA or Recovery Demands if an XFAI Goal starts to feel like too much.
I’ll also take two days off in a row whenever I feel stretched which typically occurs as I reach 4+ stars during the summer and put in some long hard days.
