I’ve noticed that when I have HIT day planned, there are basically no workouts that would also satisfy the planned time.
For example, I have two sessions next week, both are supposed to be 2h20min. But all the workouts that produce the required XSS are barely an hour long. Even with Magic Buckets on the easiest level, the workout is still only 1h50min long.
As the week progresses, this basically turns my 7-8h planned week into a 4 or 5h week, which is a big difference.
I understand I could just ride longer to hit the time targets, but then my XSS for the day would be higher than planned.
Xert don’t assign training time. It’s just an estimation how long it will take to reach the asigned amount of XSS. If the estimated training time is way off you can check the XSS per Hour Preference.
Hi Denis, I can appreciate that. XSS is the primary metric of performance/training performed, but I can appreciate that people track their volume in terms of hours as well.
Forecast AI estimates the duration of the trainings based only on their L/H/P XSS. How long it actually takes you to complete the training might be a bit more variable. Some people like riding hard and can complete the training in less time. Others might prefer to ride a bit easier & take more time to complete the training.
Based on what you’ve mentioned, I might approach it like this: use Magic Buckets to complete your training for the day & then ride easy for the remainder of your available time. In most cases, doing more low intensity than recommended isn’t too problematic for your training (unless doing it compromises your ability to complete training on future days). But that shouldn’t be a problem for ~7-8 hrs/week.
