What happens if you improve faster than projected

I’m wondering what will happen if I improve faster than the Forecast AI program projected. Will it adjust the goal and help me to get better than the initial goal? Or will it adjust the remaing training load downwards because it only wants me to meet the set goal and nothing more?

I’m asking because I have a suspicion that Xert is pretty conservative in the improvement it thinks I can make, and I think I will be ahead of schedule after a few weeks of following the program.

This is quite common! You follow the plan/do the training and then get a Breakthrough along the way.

  • If you just leave the program as-is (only adapt going forward), the system tries to carry that “extra” fitness on top of the original program.
  • But you can also modify your program to chase a new/higher goal.

Personally, I think I’d be more obligated to do the latter, but either should help you surpass the training program’s estimate, if you find it a bit conservative.

Thanks, that’s clear!
