Hey all
I am trying to understand the Threshold Power shown on my profile. It seems low. I have just done a workout where I spent roughly 13 minutes in my ‘threshold’ zone. It did seem a little easier than I thought it would be.
Is this due to the fact I haven’t had any break throughs recently and the bulk of y recent rides have been easy?
I normally update my FTP in other apps using the TP in xert, but this seems wrong at the moment.
Hi Martin! Welcome!
Which workout did you do? What “Zones” are you referring to? HR? Power?
If you haven’t expressed your fitness in a meaningful way recently (from hard intervals, rides, or races), then it’s very possible that your signature is underestimated. In order for Xert to model your fitness effectively, it needs to see you push yourself to the limit.
You don’t need breakthroughs every week, but if it’s been like 8 weeks or more since your last breakthrough, it might be time to push yourself a bit and try to reset your signature

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I did SMART - Welcome to the Jungle 45 as suggested by the recommended training. (Not sure if I can link it but - Xert - Login)
The zones I mean are my TP power zones. My TP prior to this was 230. So I set my zones to that on my other Apps. So the 13 minutes I am taking from my Strava Profile. I am still getting to grips with Xert so unsure how to see the total amount I have spent in zones.
Sounds like I do need a hard session then! It’s been about 8-9 weeks since I really pushed it.
To link an activity, view the activity details, select Share, Public in upper right, then post that URL.
Your last Breakthrough (TP) is indicated on the Training page. If considered “stale” you’ll see a warning icon (!) like this –
How many BT circles are shown when you view your
XPMC (see Progression tab) set to 3 months?
It is important to learn what’s different about Xert including its 3-level strain model with Focus Duration versus traditional zones.
You should find my onboarding topic of value although some content is outdated (predates XFAI release and other new features) –

Hey @ridgerider2 thanks for that.
My recent activity was this one. When I go into my progression and change it to 3 months I have 3 BT dots. Two Bronze and one silver. There are also two clear dots, not sure what these are.
I shall give that thread a read and digest, thanks!
Those are “Near Breakthroughs” - where you almost reached your limits, but you stopped just a little short. We have a video coming soon that will be very relevant
