I’m preparing for the 207 mile Seattle to Portland ride in July. It’s not a race, but my personal goal is to get as close to a 10 hour (moving time) finish. Last year was 11.5 hours. I’m completely new to Xert. Are there any goal settings I can set that factor in the distance and finish time
This is a very steep increase. Xert can not do wonders. You can try to set Program, Race, Analyse a power file and then there is a slider for finishing time. BUT:
You are aiming for a long distance event. Xert is not that much into long distance/ultra yet. It will always say that you can keep up the power as it is below MPA. On long distance events, MPA will never be the limiting factor though. Its all about fatigue management, pacing, nutrition and a strong LTP (high TP, low HiE).
I would rather aim for some polar climber/ polar GC specialist Forecast AI plan and increase your TP/LTP by getting lots of endurance miles in. Try to gradually extend your endurance efforts to 5-6 hours. Later in the prep, some specific threshold-Intervals preparing for the climbs in the race might also be a good idea.
