Same 2 Workouts Recommended

For most days, these 2 workouts are recommended for me:

  1. Cheung CX - 3x20 min Over-Unders
  2. SMART - Bangarang - Extended

I don’t feel like day-to-day planning is adapting to my actual logged workouts nor my accumulated fatigue and feel like I am missing something with regards to planning.

Please advise.

More details are usually helpful! What program are you on? Are you training for anything in particular, or general fitness?

Both of those workouts are ~1.5 hr GC Specialist rides, so they’re likely the best workout that align with your program settings & availability.

If you’re on a Continuous Improvement option, it might be a good time to adjust your Focus. Try moving down 1-2 Athlete Types (e.g. try Breakaway Specialist or Rouleur instead of GC Specialist). That will change up the recommended XSS, which also means that you’ll see different workouts recommended.

Cheers!

I am currently on the Continuous Improvement Plan and my focus is Rouleur with an improvement rate of Moderate-2 (do not currently have a targeted event). My recommended structured workout for today was again the “Cheung CX - 3x20 min Over-Unders”. A few other things I am confused about:

  1. My “Remaining Recovery” always seems to be 0 and Fresh
  2. My current total miles for this week in the planner have an extra 42 miles that I cannot account for
  3. My FTP went from an initial calculated value of 249 to 273 after just 1 long, hard workout. I was unable to complete the next structured workout using that FTP and manually lowered it to 255.

Thank you.

XATA Continuous = HIT workouts (on fresh days) that are close to selected Focus Duration at varying Specificity.
If you don’t see suitable alternate workouts close to the XSS goal you can also generate one using Magic Buckets generator or Autogen.
