Predicting XSS

I’ve been using Rouvy lately for some of my rides and I’m finding it hard to predict what the XSS will be for a ride. The two attachments show what to me look like inconsistent results that I don’t understand, making it hard for me to know what my resultant XSS for other rides will be. The rides were done a week apart with similar fitness signatures before I started the ride. The 166 XSS one was split 1.1/8.9/156 and the 186 one 0.8/6.9/178, however the average power for the rides and the total time are similar. Only the mileage difference is in line with XSS differences. What am I missing?

The second ride was done with greater fatigue (note the purple MPA line dipping 10 minutes after the start). Doing work under fatigue counts more than doing the same work with less fatigue. This can explain the difference and fortunately this is a good thing. The second was harder to do (note difficulty) and thus provided a higher training stimulus than the first one, despite being the same in duration and average power.
