No power data in Garmin file

There is a long winded 2T topic here –
Tacx Neo 2t + Edge 1040 + Xert Workout player - Support - Xert Community Forum

TL;DR If not working with sensors connected under Garmin settings with an Indoor profile, use your phone with EBC instead or send workout to GC and use native player on the Edge.
If Garmin Connect is your central depository you can also dual record.

Thanks for all the tips.

For yesterday workout, I gave a shot to the EBC app on Android and it worked perfect. The upload on Strava is nice with all the details. Just missing the info in Garmin Connect :smiling_face_with_tear:

I will experiment with the different options but I liked the fact of being able to use the player from Garmin IQ since it supports the SMART workouts and this is kinda an unique feature of Xert. Also the fact that the player supports progressive power load whereas sending the workout to Garmin to use the native player would mean I would lose both features.

Well, I think I’ve read somewhere on this forum this trick, but to continue feeding Garmin Connect, for today’s session, I have dual recorded my workout using 1) the Xert EBC Android app to control my trainer 2) my Garmin Edge 1040 where I simply started an Indoor ride. At the end of the session, I first ended the ride on my Edge 1040, then stopped the workout in Xert EBC. After that, I deleted the duplicates in Strava and Xert.

This way, my training status and all metrics are updated in Garmin Connect AND other platforms.

I did see this issue once where there was no power data, only the IQ power. Never an issue with speed. I disconnected all sensors from the garmin exept my powermeter. No issues since.

I managed to fix the data files with an online tool that exported to csv and rename the power field from something like “trainerpower” back to power and converted back to fit file.

Oh I definitely need to try that for my Monday’s endurance workout which appears broken in Strava and Intervals.icu. I would at least like to have power data fixed so that my load is correct in both platforms.
