Can you provide more details on what you plan to do?
In April I would like to have a lactate and VO2max test with my diagnostician.
I would like to continue training normally until then, but the plan should take into account a taper week before the test.
There are a couple ways you might approach that goal.
One would be to setup an Event target date in April using XFAI to generate a forecast plan.
For example, Road Race/Hilly will target your 4-minute power (Puncheur) with a pronounced taper as shown on the forecast chart during the last week.
Another option is XATA (blank calendar) if you want more flexibility and control over what you do day-to-day while following a Base-Build-Peak progression that runs in background guiding you.
With XATA you’ll see a warning to taper the week before the target date. It’s up to you how you approach that week by reducing hours and/or intensity along with extra rest day or two.
With XFAI select Event, enter your test target date, select Road Race, Hilly, Event Duration, and Max Hours you can reasonable expect to reach by target date.
See what Event Readiness level is indicated by default. If not within the 1.x range disable Auto-calculate and see how much lower you can go and successfully generate a plan.
You can run forecasts with yellow or red acheivability warnings to see what’s possible before deciding which forecast option to go with.
With XATA select Base-Build-Peak, set target date, select Puncheur, Mixed, and set your desired improvement rate which you can change during the progression. For example, self-imposed training blocks.
With mid-April as a target date you’ll notice this starts you well into Build phase. The assumption will be you have currently established base level fitness. Have you?
If you have weekly schedule limitations you’ll also want to configure Availability before forecasting.
With both program types keep an eye on the TL and Signature tables shown to judge what changes are estimated during the term of the program.
I picked Puncheur/4-minute power as the Focus Power target as that ensures workouts will target that portion of your power curve as you approach your target date. So more VO2max.
