Can someone help me understand the training advisor?

Seems like a basic question, but my training advisor (see image) says I have a surplus of 66 XSS and that I’m on/ahead of training pace, but then recommends a pretty healthy ride of 203 XSS? Also, on the mobile app, it has text under the dial that says, “Training is Optional” which doesn’t show anywhere on the web app.

My questions are:

  1. Why are mobile app and Web app different (or have different things, can’t they be the same)
  2. Should I go do a hard 3 hour ride of 200+ XSS or not? Is the ride required, optional, or not advised?

skip the app as it needs to be updated. web based is the way. go off what is listed on the Planner tab vs the app. later.

Whether on XFAI or XATA program types, you can view the Training page online to view today’s advice.
You are on XATA Continuous which reflects a range of possibilities based on your current settings (ramp rate and Focus), current form (tired to fresh), and what you have recently performed on same day of the week.
On XATA if you keep the Training Pacer needle within 11am to 1pm position you are “on plan”.
Xert is flexible by design.
In your example, training today is indeed optional considering needle position and surplus.
You choose what to do weighing that choice against what you intend to do later in the week.

If you want further details with examples I suggest you use forum search entering my screen name and any topic of interest.
E.g. “@ridgerider2 continuous” or @ridgerider2 training pacer" or “@ridgerider2 surplus”.
