I am in a status of Tired and the Autogen every day just gives you the same AI generated Workout. I would have felt it would use more of the library and be a bit more sophisticated. It doesn’t feel like AI at all and more just looking at your status and using something generic.
Then has to be a way to make some more fancy endurance/recovery rides to change it up a little
I think you’re confusing two things. Autogen means it will generate an AI generated workout based on XSS requirements. It will always be an AI generated workout, because that’s what Autogen is for.
If you want a workout from the libray, just pick one from the recommendations for that day.
As mentioned below, the workout generator is different from the library.
That being said, there has been requests for extensions to the generator where you could adjust things like max duration, max difficulty, adjusted XSS target. This can be useful if you believe the generated workout is too hard (or easy), if you have less time or want to do more/less than what is planned for the day.
For shorter workouts, that is less than 120 mins you probably have good workouts in the library and don’t have to use the generator. But it can be a good help when you have to produce 200 XSS or more with some high and peak XSS as well. There are obviously very few such workouts in the library.
If you’re consistently tired, then autogen is going to generate simple low-intensity workouts that only contain Low XSS. You’ll need to achieve Fresh/Very Fresh status before autogen will recommend a high-intensity workout. If you don’t necessarily. feel tired, you could consider adjusting your recovery demands.
I can understand that having variety might help pass the time faster, but the structure of low XSS rides doesn’t really matter. For my low intensity days, I’ve leveraged the use of XSS Buckets data field & virtual group/pacer rides (or a simple/easy workout with YouTube, Netflix, etc.) to achieve the recommended XSS for the day. Helps me pass the time a bit better. YMMV
