How would you setup training for a 2 week bikepacking race?
Have you completed a bikepacking race before? I’ve set my Xert up using a file from last year for a similar race using Race/Forecast AI. It will say that Readiness can’t be achieved, as it’s virtually impossible to get your TL up to whatever percentage of the event XSS it wants, but just ignore that. I don’t think Xert’s “Readiness” concept works for ultra/bikepacking races, where even the elites will finish being totally wrecked.
If you don’t have a race file, I’d set Xert up using a Forecast AI Goal, either a 10-minute or 20-minute power focus, specificity polar, and slide the power increase as far to the right as you can while keeping the goal achievable. In my mind, the increase in power is not the main focus; getting the TL as high as you can in the time available will improve your durability and make the race more sustainable.
What race are you planning to do?
I would basically 100% agree. If your goal is ultra endurance, then “training” means ride your bike a lot! ![]()

Yes I do have a file from an 800 km race but I am riding transiberica again which is many files. I will try what you said. Thanks for the help
