XFAI Adapt Forecast

Maybe this has been talked about here already, but I’ve looked and haven’t found the answer so hope someone can help.

I’m still fairly new here (using Xert about a month) and started an XFAI plan for an event in June. Readiness said I think 1.2, green and said “Your goal is within the typical range of achievability.”

So I’ve been doing that for a few weeks now. But I’ve noticed a few times on the Planner page that “Adapt Forecast” has come up and when I hover says “Your availabilities have changed, click here to adapt your forecast”. But I have not changed my availabilities, and have not missed a workout on my available days in the plan. When I click adapt it says “Training Forecast Adapted Successfully” but when I hover over the bar at the end (the event day) it says “Even readiness is not reached. Not enough training load. Training Load will not reach the forecast Target” for Low, High, and Peak. But when I first made the plan it said I could and I have not missed a workout. What am I missing or doing wrong? Can anyone explain? Should I not adapt and just keep riding out the original forecasted plan? Should I accept the adaptation?

Thanks for any insight!

Hi Mike, welcome to Xert!!

You can adapt whenever you want! If you’re following the training quite closely, you should be able to achieve the desired training loads for your goal event. If your program is really tight (little room for error) or you were to continue disregarding the recommended XSS targets, then at some point it becomes impossible to achieve the desired program results.

With that said, we have a couple of small changes on the way that will help improve the optimizer algorithm determine how much high-intensity training can be squeezed into your available time (using some of the magic buckets math), as well as some changes that should help minimize when the red dot is shown on the Adapt Forecast button. We’ll make announcements in the Xert Newsfeed when these changes are made

Hope this helps!
