I recently completed (as best I could!) the Xert Fight through the pain workout which I exported to zwift to ride.
I know from previous comments this isn’t the best way to do it as Zwift cannot cope that well with some of the blocks. After completing the workout it automatically sent through to Xert however Xert didn’t match up the zwift workout with the planned training session, this is the first time I have noticed this. Having looked at my training plan progress it showed me with double XSS as it still thought I was planning on doing the workout! Is this because I added an extra 20 minute cool down on zwift and completed it as one activity or did it not pick up as I couldn’t handle all of the intervals in full?
In a smart workout how can you tell which blocks are smart and will update as you go through the session or are they all like that within a smart workout?
Are there any plans to integrate these workouts better in zwift? Is there a way to have a Xert overlay in zwift somehow - I used to do this with workouts from SYSTM? Would prefer to have it all on one screen if possible.
Also is the buckets thing only available on garmin and not wahoo head units?
The doubling is likely due to Start time.
Any entry you never ride will disappear after midnight. Or you can delete it.
For example, let’s say a planned workout has a Start time of 1pm (when you normally workout on Tuesdays), but you ride the Zwift entry at 10am. The uploaded activity doesn’t overlap with the planned one so it’s treated as a separate activity which you might have done on purpose.
SMART workouts include a number of interval types derived from your fitness signature. One type is dynamic which won’t run as designed under ERG control when pushed to Zwift.
You can click on a workout title to view details and scan the Power column to note if any intervals are defined as %MPA or XSSR. If in doubt, you can alternately run Autogen to create a simple %TP workout to ride on Zwift.
XSS Buckets and Xert Dashboard are Garmin Connect IQ apps only. Wahoo doesn’t offer a similar dev platform for their devices. I don’t know what Wahoo plans to do in the future but it took 7+ years for them to add an API to support workout import.
Forgot to include this article that explains how to run Zwift with the Session Player (on Windows PC) while EBC on phone runs the workout.
Not quite an overlay but gets the job done on one screen with added advantage that all SMART workouts run as designed.
With this option you don’t sync workout-of-the-day to Zwift.
