Is it worth considering a server-proof version of EBC?
Would also work when you don’t have cell phone coverage which IME includes a WHOLE LOT of state and national parks in the US. :slight_smile:

Here’s how it would work –

  • EBC date stamps your last signature sync in case it’s been a while since you ran EBC.
  • Under Workout, Filter there is a new button function for XMB. It is only active if signature on file is recent (last 3 days?).
  • Select desired Duration, Focus, and Difficulty.
  • Tap XMB button which returns you to the Activity page with your XMB workout listed.
    Title would be something like Magic Buckets - Pursuiter, 2-1/2 diamonds, XSS: xx (l, h, p)
  • Start your ride.

EBC would treat the activity the same way it does now when no workout is selected.
I.e. a free ride with gears/cadence to hit XMB targets and fill the buckets.
The only difference is EBC grabs the XSS targets from the app itself instead of the server.

I would have thought that would consume a lot of development for little benefit.

If I start a ride and cannot get my session up then I am sure I can improvise. I would have had some idea what was planned.
