I bought a new computer, a Hammerhead karoo 3. I have now installed Xert and have a few problems or Questions to other karoo users.
When I call up the app after restarting my karoo, I have to re-enter my acount data every time. Is that the same with you?
Do I also need an internet connection for the ride? On the data pages, the wifi switches off automatically, so a hotspot from the mobile phone brings nothing, or does it all work via Bluetooth?
Ok today everything worked out and I did my first indoor ride. What probably doesn’t work are the overlay and the bell. Unfortunately, they only work in the normal view. And what I also miss with the karoo is the cadence display like the Garmin.
Karoo does not support sounds for Extensions, but the Remote/Session Player should work if you enable Wi-Fi.
Magic Buckets and Workout Player on Garmin use Bluetooth connection to your phone which then uses data connection to power Remote/Session Player.
You can display cadence and HR by swiping the bottom page to one with those data fields.
Cadence defaults to Current but you assign Target Cadence to that field if you prefer that.
I noticed another bug: If I do two trips with the karoo3 on one endurance day, the values for zone % and fat % are set to zero on the second ride. The displayed values are then, of course, completely wrong.
I don’t have much experience with two rides in one day with XMB.
I know XSS accumulated so far is retained but I’m not sure that’s practical for Zone and Fat fields. The server would need to keep tabs.
Do you know if it works that way with the Garmin version of XMB?
I ride with my road bike to work, that’s why I have often two rides.
With the Garmin, the endurance view was not displayed the second time, which is why I do not know that. With karoo I can at least always go to the endurance view.
