Workout Designer - Slope Mode Question

Having a bit of difficulty using the Workout Designer. I have set all intervals to %TP but would like select intervals to auto switch to Slope mode when using the EBC (see pics).

Don’t know if I’m on the right track or not when selecting Slope and MMP for the desired intervals. When I do this the designer wants a value for MMP but no units are specified so I don’t know if this value is suppose to be a my MMP power for the interval duration or what…?

How best to achieve slope (auto) mode for specific intervals when designing a workout?

Nice - you’re basically there!

MMP = mean maximal power. For example, 8 MMP would mean that (regardless of the interval duration) the interval target power will always be equal to your 8 minute power, even as your fitness increases and decreases. This isn’t as important when designing a Mixed Mode workout (with slope intervals) since you can easily change how hard you’re riding by choosing a different gear or adjusting your cadence.

To give an example, here’s a workout I had designed a long while back that features 5x 1 minute all out efforts:

For each 1 min all-out effort, I used a Target Power of 1.5 MMP (1.5 min power) and set the slope to ~1.0% to simulate the flats, so I’d need to push a big gear for these efforts on the turbo:

Side note: If you’d prefer, you can still use a SLOPE and set the target based on %TP if that’s more familiar to you. In the long term, I’d recommend prescribing by MMP as it scales better with increases (and decreases) in your fitness, as well as scaling well to other athletes - if you want to share it with your friends

Got it! Made the changes from %TP to MMP for desired intervals. Will test it later this week. Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated :+1:

Good luck! It looks like a tough workout - maybe you can share your activity MPA chart once you’ve completed it!
