Looking at getting a new bike computer since my old one fell off (plastic brittle and the fall damaged the bluetooth sensor inside).
Considering the iGPSport bike computer. I see they’re sponsoring Groupama FDJ this year. Has anyone been uploading to Xert directly with any of the 3 brands I link below - Magene / iGPSport / Bryton?
I currently use Garmin and have Connect upload to Xert then Xert push it to Strava to get the power graph, etc.
The BSC500 for example seems like it could be good? And paying under $200 Australian (to have it brought from China) for something that seems to be similar to Garmins at 3x the price is pretty tempting! (And if it actually is easy to use and works well that would be pretty good)
I use a Bryton S510. I’m happy with it. It’s not perfect, but its OS has never crashed or failed to record a ride (something which I’ve heard people complain about Garmin devices surprisingly). It syncs to Strava and then Strava syncs to Xert. Battery life is good; I hate having to charge stuff.
Yeah, I lap my Garmin every 10km just to make sure the file saves regularly. Haven’t had an issue with my Edge 810 crashing and losing data over the past few years, but did maybe around 2017-2019 a few times. 10km is also nice because the beep of lap complete is a nice reminder to eat / drink on longer rides.
I think I’m going to go for the iGPSport BSC500. It’s only been out a month or so by the looks of what I can find on reddit, but I’m going to trust that if it’s actually sponsoring a pro team it’s not going to cause huge headaches.
Just would be nice if I could upload here directly, but Strava → here will still be fine.
