Training deficit carry over

Hi

Last week I was sick for a couple of days, so was off the bike which put me into a training deficit, which is fine, perfectly reasonable.

However, this morning, the start of the next week, it looks like I have had that carry over as the deficit is nearly 300 xss and my programmed ride is ride is 140, so I am going to be carrying last week’s deficit.

The documentation says " based on your past week of training and does not carry over, meaning if you missed reaching your target last week, Xert will not force you to make up for it this week", so I am confused somewhat as it’s not the behaviour I am seeing. The only thing I can think of is timezones as xert is in canada and I am in NZ, it just hasn’t caught up yet.

Thoughts, advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Matt

A deficit/surplus does not carry over from one week [edit] to the next.
You’re seeing the effect of weighted moving average over a rolling 7-day period factoring in what you’ve recently ridden in past on same day of the week.
Start riding again as normal and the needle will settle in over the next week or two.
Your goal at that point is to try and stay within 11am-1pm position to maintain the improvement rate you set (which can be changed at any time).
