Struggling with my protein intake

As I approach 58 years old I’ve been told by a few people that us older riders should be increasing our protein intake as we apparently don’t absorb it as well as we used to in our younger days.

I already struggle to eat enough to consume around 1g/kg body weight and have been told i should be targeting at least 1.6g/kg body weight.

In order to achieve this and possibly even to achieve 1g/kg body weight I would need to start taking some form of whey protein powder or something.

Does anyone have any knowledge about this and possibly some advice?

Thanks

I recommend pure whey protein isolate, (not concentrate) without all the extra stuff some companies add, like vitamins and other hyped up stuff. I use Now Sports Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate.

More meals per day. Second breakfast is a good start.

Hahaha. I struggle to eat one breakfast, never mind two.

That list of foods protein content is really useful thanks.

I like to make a delicious espresso protein shake after morning rides with whey isolate

I especially try to ensure I have it after long or harder rides!

You might want to substitute vanilla for that cocoa powder.
