I would like Xert to send completed workouts from the EBC app to Strava, but I do not want “Morning Ride” to be renamed to “Moderate Mixed Pursuiter Ride”. This has just started happening and I am not sure why!
I see this topic has come up before but I couldn’t find a solution.
Which combination of settings would achieve this? I also have Garmin Sync enabled. Maybe these conflict somehow?
Isn’t “Morning Ride” a Garmin naming scheme?
To retain that Garmin needs to sync with Strava.
EBC recorded activities uploaded to Xert are analyzed and named according to Difficulty, Specificity, and Focus.
Check your Sync to Strava settings. If enabled Xert’s analysis and naming applies as do Ride/BT reports and Summary Data (if enabled).
Personally, I’d rather know the how hard the ride was and at what Focus Power.
Moderate Mixed Pursuiter lets me know it was 2-diamond difficult level ride with mixed intensities above and below my 3-minute power.
At a glance I know whether my Z2 ride turned out that way (Easy Pure Endurance) or whether a HIT workout met the day’s goal. YMMV
No, “Morning Ride” is the Strava scheme, which I would like to retain. Garmin names the activity based on where it starts (at least it does for me!).
“Show reports and summary data” is disabled for my Strava link.
I believe this could be happening due to the Garmin link, so I will disconnect Garmin and see if that helps.
I think the sequence might be as follows:
Garmin syncs to Xert and Strava > Xert renames activity > Xert sends renamed activity to Strava > Strava recognises duplicate (of activity that Garmin has already synced with Strava) and deletes “Morning Ride”; keeps “Moderate Mixed Pursuiter Ride”
I’ve been using Xert for a couple of months and this has only just started happening - same as Dan above.
Mine was using Xert Dashboard/Magic Buckets on an outdoor ride, not through the EBC app. I’ve used Xert this way as I said for the last 6 weeks, probably around 25 rides so far and yesterday was the first time it has renamed my Strava activity like that.
Since Dashboard and Buckets are data fields they won’t have any bearing on the activity name.
If you never want Xert’s naming scheme to apply I think you want Garmin to sync to Strava and Strava to sync to Xert.
In this case Garmin Connect Sync would not be enabled in Xert and Strava Sync would be set to sync FROM Strava (Cycling, Virtual, Workout) with all other options disabled.
Yeah, it looks like you’re right, thanks for that. It appears that this time Garmin uploaded to Xert before it uploaded to Strava so Xert then passed it to Strava.
