I cam so close to a breakthrough. Missed it by like 20 to 30 seconds (depending on which peak I measure from on the red). Did a sprint on the route, finished the sprint, so let off, and was with a pacer group, so was going to have to wait for the pacer to catch up anyhow.
So I guess the question(s) become:
Was it just expecting me to hold the sprint longer? If so why?
And what is the Difficulty gray zone that starts to show up in the background?
And I guess a final question, is the week Monday to Sunday like Zwift and Strava, or day started, or Sunday to Saturday?
You need to flatline or cross the magenta MPA line to trigger a breakthrough.
For breakthroughs the max effort needs to be at least 5-7 secs long.
There are three ways to achieve breakthroughs – pull down, push over, and multiple.

Another possibility is a Near Breakthrough which means you came very close and your signature will be downgraded a few points to assist you in achieving a BT moving forward. Consider it a signature correction that you can prove otherwise during a future max effort.
Difficulty – a measure of the strain accumulated during an activity. Highest point on the shaded portion looks to be about 65 in your chart which would rate the activity’s intensity as Moderate.
Easy: <45-50 (1 to 1.5 diamonds)
Moderate: 50-75 (2 to 2.5 diamonds)
Difficult: 75-110 (3 to 3.5 diamonds)
Tough: 110-150 (4 to 4.5 diamonds)
Hard: >150 (5 diamonds)
