I recently rode the Criterium 5 series workout split between AUTO mode for a double warm-up then switched to Slope mode for the remainder.
This was a unique session where I ran on EBC iOS while monitoring Xert Magic Buckets (XMB) on my Garmin 830.
After the first set of micro-bursts, I switched to using XMB.
Here’s what that workout looked like –
I met the total low/high/peak targets for the day when the Buckets filled. I could have stopped but I decided to add more XSS since the workout was still running on EBC with remaining intervals.
You wouldn’t normally ride indoors like this, but it demonstrates an advantage to riding in Slope mode and how XMB guides your efforts to meet your XSS targets.
