What is your estimated completion time and expected difficulty level of the event?
What are you hoping to change by recasting?
None of the prior week’s HIT workouts are above your 3+ status stars level and calculated form is back to fresh the next day. If that’s not the case and you don’t feel back to blue by the weekend, you can shorten the duration of the HIT on Saturday and ride the Sunday endurance as easy as you like.
It’s mainly the saturday’s workout that I find strange, more than 3 Hours HIT workout with 203XSS, it’s one of the toughest of the plan just 2 days before the event.
The event is a gravel race of 50 kilometers, so about 1h50.
Is Saturday when you normally ride long?
Although that day is labeled HIT (some XSS >TP) it’s really Polar Endurance,
Sprint Time Triallist (20-min power) is at the start of the endurance quadrant where the power curve flattens out.
Polar = majority of time spent at Endurance intensity.
Example of an indoor workout in that range –
If you click on the 203 circle is the target XSS ratio close to 201 | 1.7 | .1?
That would be rated Moderate Difficulty (203/3hr = 68 XSS/hr = 2.5 diamonds).
It would also be a mild HIT ride with Magic Buckets if you use that.
OTOH if not accustomed to riding that long you could shorten it, especially if the earlier HIT rides in that week (higher Difficulty rating) pushed you into tired status instead of the fresh form calculated.
The race is just 120XSS so pretty small load. You’ll be well rested for this race even with the big Saturday ride. You can try and lower the Event Readiness, but even then, you’re at 3+ stars so have plenty of fitness for this short race. XFAI helps you avoid too much tapering for short races which helps you avoid going flat with too much rest.
Also, by the looks of it Saturday is mostly an endurance ride so should be easy to recover from.
So I understand that this is not shocking as planning. As this disturbs me a little, especially mentally, I will reduce my availability to 2 hours on Saturday, and recalculate
