Planning New Activities & Workouts after the New Update

I never used the old planner for planning my week as I thought it was too clunky and time consuming. I do think that new one is an awful lot better and so I’m going to give it a go .Before I do I’ve got a question about putting in activities for the following week,
If for instance I know that on the Wednesday I can’t ride and that on Friday I’ve got a long hard group ride, should I start off by putting a similar previous ride in on the Friday and putting, say, a 1 minute workout on in on the Wednesday (as a proxy for a rest day).Then go through the week from the Monday using the recommended workouts/Outside rides after I select the duration I can ride that day. In other words does the planner take into account future activities as well as past ones?
