Hour or so climb but my threshold is the same as just pedaling with good pressure on the pedals while doing this climb. My question is what metric or screen on my Garmin from Xert will show how long i can hold above threshold and how long it will take to recover while not blowing up for the full distance. Or in other words if my FTP is 170 and I want to do low 200’s for the steeper parts of the climb how would i be able to know how long i could hold that pace and how many times i can go over threshold during the hour or so ride? Thx not a good explanation but any help is appreciated.
Configuration of TTE and TTR data fields is covered here
You do need to set the target powers for the above and below threshold efforts in advance though / it is not dynamic.
It also doesn’t take into account difficulty score e.g. in theory you are recovering at 95% of threshold but anyone that’s done over unders knows difficulty Ramps up / sustainability reduces over longer durations…
It may be more useful and interesting to create a dummy workout with the power targets you’re thinking of, and see how that looks… if I do one alternating between 105% and 95% TP for an hour, it is not a BT but difficulty gets > 150 which is very very tough
Thank You!!! I really like the dummy workout idea. I can break it down from previous rides using the elevation profile to mark intervals. And I can see how MPA rises and falls. Thx.
