I’m new on the Xert platform, and today I tryed to do my planned workout session vía “Garmin Send”. Everything worked good, I received it on Garmin Connect and put it on my calender.
On the Fenix side, I found it with no isssues and started it.
The problem here is that no ERG mode was available, and no matter where I looked, I didn’t see any “ERG ON” option on either the Fenix side or the Garmin connect App side.
What was the name of the workout?
Do you plan to use your Fenix to run workouts on your trainer instead of the EBC phone app?
The phone app handles every type of workout including SMART intervals that the export/send option can’t include.
Thanks @ridgerider2, Yes, the Idea is to use my Fenix as my main workout device, I have no phone stand/base on my bike, and the “Send to Garmin” option looked really good when I saw it. Maybe as you say, if not all “parameters” fly when sent to Garmin, that won’t be an option.
I tried 2 workouts and neither worked… I think SMART - Riders on the Storm - 60 was one of them…..
Next time try sending a workout that doesn’t contain dynamic SMART intervals.
Or select the Magic Buckets Workout Generator tab, Save the displayed default, then Send that workout to your Garmin. Does that run fine with your Fenix?
You can identify SMART workouts that won’t translate well by viewing details.
Look for XSSR and %MPA based intervals.
Another clue is the thumbnail chart. Look for ramps or curvilinear intervals.
Examples:
I obviously had no idea what SMART workouts were. I see now that since they are “changing” as you go, there’s no way they can be send to the Fenix and expect to be SMART still.
I’ll try some others tomorrow, and will give the EBC APP a chance, since it looks very cool what it says, a Workout that can adapt in real time to your performance sound reaaly cool.
Thanks again for your help on this. I’ll let you know what happens tomorrow!
