Manual Training Loads

Hi,

I’ve been on-off riding for awhile and was trying to find what my Decay rate was set at currently when I came across the “Set Training Loads by Date/Activity” under XPMC in Profile Settings.

The Help article wasn’t very useful in understanding what this does. Manual Training Loads – Xert Breakthrough Training Can someone explain it a bit.

I’m asking because the only activity in there is a random Easy Pure Endurance Ride from 2022 that was a 20 min HR based commute with no power meter and I am wondering what it is doing there, if it’s impacting estimates somewhere, whether I should worry about it, and whether I should be deleting it/adding other activities to this table.

Thanks for any info you have.

The manually set training load is used as a seed e.g. if you don’t have a proper history of activities. If the entry is from 2022 it wont have any impact on your current training load.

Thanks - I need to get this article moved to our new Knowledgebase.

@Elcomp nailed it! It’s an advanced setting and not usually necessary for most users.

If you’ve been away from the bike for a while (or if you’re missing training data) and your training load has dropped to a very low level and the recommendations are very short workouts, you might want to use this setting to override the calculated TL with your own value (Low, High, and/or Peak). Often it’s better to ask for assistance from support if needed - it’s possible to mess things up if you don’t know what it’s doing.
