Different methods, old autogen gave 3 sets of intervals with power decreasing between sets. MB workout has constant on power and lets you control difficulty with challenge level (max %mpa used x10) with longer intervals to get you to the desired challenge level (+2 per interval) and then shorter ones to keep you there until high and peak are satisfied.
As @ConorP says the generator tab can be used to create an XMB style workout to ride under Erg control indoors. You can create a HIT monster by adjusting interval duration and raising Challenge Level.
In your case hop and ride without any workout created/selected will do the job outdoors.
XMB will dynamically adjust to fill the buckets as you execute the workout.
By default XMB will fetch the top level XSS advice for the day unless a workout has been selected/scheduled with a different XSS target.
For example, if GC Specialist is the top level XSS advice today, you could override that by selecting a Rouler workout on XO before you start recording a ride on your Garmin.
