Magic Buckets has been spot on (mostly indoors) thus far. However, on Feb 5th MB showed I was a slightly under on XLSS, Over on HLSS, and spot on HPSS. When sync’d I was under on all measures especially XLSS.
I wasn’t sure what to think about that. It was the first time there has been any significant difference between MB and the sync’d workout.
Yesterday, Feb 6th, I noticed when starting an endurance workout that the XLSS bucket was starting with a negative number. I watched the XLSS number in MB and in Dashboard field (it started at 0). The sync’d workout matched the Dashboard values.
I believe I had the latest version of Magic Buckets, but to be sure I sync’d my 530 with Garmin connect again to be sure. I didn’t see a new version get loaded.
Is what I’m seeing normal or have I stepped on a bug?
v1.6 is up.
A quick way to force the update (if not automatically updated) is to connect your device to laptop and let Garmin Express update the unit. Or run Garmin Connect on phone, migrate to the XMB listing, tap Update if you see that option active, then power off/on the device after “Download Complete” appears on the Edge.
x40, x50 and Explore 2 folks now have instant fetch.
Us oldies – or old folks with older units – will have to endure the 300 sec delay if initial fetch fails but that doesn’t mean you can’t start your ride. Any XSS accumulated will be applied to the correct low/high/peak values once the fetch is successful.
New options under Settings on Garmin Connect include Beeps On/Off and FIT Graphs On/Off.
I’m not sure what the latter feature is yet.
EDIT: FIT Graphs On/Off is for those with multiple CIQ data fields that cause IQ conflict errors. For example, CORE and Alpha-CRV. If the IQ error continues to appear, turn off FIT Graphs in XMB.
Thank you for the information. The unit is a 530 edge I use on my trainer. I haven’t experience the issue again since I connected the device through Garmin express and sync’d. The 530 doesn’t get connected as often as my other unit I use outdoors. That is why my first step was to connect it and sync.
Garmin 1040 solar (indicates no updates available): CIQ/CIQStore/Installed/ExertMagicBuckets//MoreInfo/Version-Loading.
For all of the Exert data fields installed on my Garmin, when attempting to fetch version they all spin on loading and never display version number installed. I do not have this problem with any other mfgr data field installed, ie, they show current version installed.
When viewing installed data fields on my iPhone, Magic Buckets indicates v1.7.1 and I can access settings from here. When viewing the data field on my Edge 1040 I see the image shown below which does not have the bar above the buckets suggesting I do not have current version installed.
As soon as you press the Start button on your Edge the version of XMB will be displayed.
When you begin accumulating XSS the bar will appear at the top of the ZONE box.
