Magic buckets app giving different results than web

Hi, when I use magic buckets the results shown in the app differ significantly to those shown afterwards on the web. As an example, I am attaching a picture of the completed workout screen in the app, and what the web shows afterward. This is quite frustrating. Is there an explanation to this? Maybe there is something to configure that I am not aware of?

what program are you on?

i have also seen this on both a RACE AI Program and Goal Program. i have not seen it addressed yet.

The most likely reason for the discrepancy is error correction. If your power meter has a sticky power problem and your ride has a lot of starts and stops, it can overestimate your XSS during the ride. There are also slight difference in calculations since the Garmin doesn’t use the exact same compiled code as compared to the server so there is always going to be some small differences between what the Garmin reports and what gets reported on the server.

Not sure what a sticky power problem is. The PM is a relatively new (less than one year) SRAM red axs. The ride was like 58 short intervals of high power with very low power recovery. Si that may explain it.

Second by second total activity analysis on XO (when recording is uploaded) will always be more precise than limited calculations possible on the Connect IQ data field.
From your screenshot it appears you achieved a Difficult Mixed Pursuiter Ride.
Was that the goal for the day?

As you surmise executing 58 sprints in 58 minutes may be a factor.
Post two screenshots of your power chart from that activity.
One showing the entire chart and the other zoomed in on 5 or 10 minutes.
As far as sticky power goes you may not notice it on a chart but it’s a short blip of power that carries over even though you stopped pedaling and watts should have immediately gone to zero.

could it also be that your signature improved slightly due to the ride so when the ride was uploaded, the peak and high values decreased slightly due to a very small signature change? We tout one of XERT benefits is http it updates daily to give you the most accurate signature it can

Well, 58 is how Xert’s app counts them. It actually is more or less half that count. It begins with 58 intervals remaining and it starts going down. Normally by two, but not always. I am pasting the graphics, where only the last sprint is a bonus point. The others where all mandated by the app, and the workout is a magic buckets auto-generated workout. Then a zoom in of less than 10 minutes.

Relative to the question by dreeddnya the signature actually worsened marginally, albeit I did all the intervals way above what was requested. Actually, I think my FTP is currently underestimated by Xert. It has typically been around 240 (which I find reasonable), and a couple of years ago it raised to 280 (I think it was over estimated then).
