I’m on the xert road, almost three complete stars, but I wonder, what happened to the ‘rest week’ we’ve been told we need? If I take a few days off I do feel like I come back stronger than I would have had I just kept on the workouts. Is that just wimpy folly, or do you suggest rest weeks regularly? Or, is the idea to absolutely hammer yourself before taking that rest week? Some guidance on rest would be appreciated.

Hi Chris. Rest weeks are an important part of your training… but only if you’re training much harder than you normally do. The adaptive training advisor will recommended additional rest if you’ve been training at a high improvement rate and are not abilty to reduce your training deficit. This is how the system sees the need for recovery weeks. Please check our blog on the training advisor for more information on this.
