I was genuinely hoping for better, but I must be super dialed in for my fitness at this time.
An in game breakthrough form Zwift, so didn’t really push for it. 7min climb followed by a surge to close a gap. As a new xerter I have been curious how my heart rate and VO2max would behave after all these micro intervals (“pursuiter” and “break specialist”), but I got 6month best for both 5 and 7 mins on this climb without going ultra deep, and had no problem keeping heart rate up for an extended period. Was considering modifying the BT as I believe I have gained HIE over the last 2 months, so eg only 2W increase and then raise HIE to match the maximal effort time. I decided to keep the modest TP increase, and then test the new signature against my most hated interval:
2 times “2m @ 5m MMP + 8m @ TP” with 10m 65%TP rest in between
Certainly not a xert style interval, and doesn’t rank up many XSS, but I always suffer during those 8m at TP. Not so much this time - signature must be ok
After 3 weeks of non-breakthrough, did my usual saturday group ride this morning.
On certain stretch when pushing hard, didn’t know i got a breakthrough as am too focused on pulling the group on the narrow road. So happy with the increase of 8% threshold power but also feel scare whether is it too high for me, shall see then.
By the way, am intending to start my off-season/taper for this week since am on moderate-1 for almost 3 months and with 5 starts on 2nd week.
Now am in dilemma whether to push to another week or 2 for my off-season/taper.
So close!
Hi everyone ! In the free ride, today, w/ some first shoot, Silver breakthrough, just in the last little ascent in the house street.
Go ! ;o)
Good evening !
Cheers.

Got 4th place today in a national cat 3 race. Really happy because i was the only old dude in the mix
Got the BT while getting dropped on a climb and then had to descend like a mother to make the break and catch the lead group
Also made it back into the 300 club
I’ve been trying to beat my time every Saturday on Zwift’s Mountain 8 route. Used Xert’s MPA overlay to help with pacing somewhat. Got a silver breakthrough, beat my own time by 20 seconds and a new maximum heartrate.
National Norwegian Zwift Race trying to hang on to the front (A+) group.
Standing and sitting, pushing and pulling on the pedals up the last climd towards the finish line on the Surf N Turf-course. Didn’t even registrer the finish line until I passed it. Was going all out trying to hang on.
It’s really great to get breakthroughs, but it’s also not so great to think how horrible the coming workouts are going to be
FTP = 324 342
The reason for such a big jump in FTP is likely due to doing 20 hour weeks before doing the Andalucia Bike Race, then being sick before starting to train hard again.
Hi everyone ! In my 100’s of the week, today, another Silver BT. Little gas in the middle climb (4,5% AVG and 3 km lenght), but not very ‘razor’, in any case a welcome BT ! ;O))
Good evening ! Cheers.

After doing a lot of zone 2 riding during the off season and having a couple near breakthroughs as transitioning to outdoors finally got a long overdue gold breakthrough on tonight’s group ride
I’ve actually had a pretty rough week with heaps of physical work around the house over the long weekend, and so I had to cut this ride short due to a sheer lack of energy - not before I managed a gold breakthrough though, so not all bad!
My breakthrough during a “B” race this weekend! I have 2-weeks until my A-race!
@batwood14 the 'ol sisters did it to me again!
My first serious attempt at a breakthrough, but not sure it I did it correctly.
As you can see there was a first breakthrough, when I extended the programmed interval (Fitness breakthrough workout ) by using slope mode. But I made a final sprint which caused a second breakthrough.
As far as I know, after reading this forum, the first breakthrough is more accurate than the sprint breakthrough, is that correct? so I think I should have avoided the sprint.
Second question: The LTP went up to a unrealistic (I think) new value, maybe because my sprint confused the algorithm?. LTP does not belong to signature, How is it calculated?
Riding the Coll de sa Batalla in Mallorca yesterday. Looks like my signature is pretty good as i was trying pretty hard.
“Pointy” breakthroughs are the hardest ones for the system to understand since they don’t provide a lot of information on how you actually fatigue. Ideally, hold your power during a breakthrough and then see how your power declines. This will help identify how much of your power comes from TP, HIE (and PP) and helps identify LTP with greater accuracy.
