Large XSS difference from Garmin and online

I did a ride today using an edge 1050 and the Xert dashboard. At the end of the ride the dashboard said I’d done 138 XSS total. Which would line up with previous similar rides. When I look at the activity online it says XSS is only 102.

I’ve read some of the other threads that mention a similar issue, but I don’t think it’s related to those. The edge 1050 only does 1 second recording, there’s no smart recording option. There was a near breakthrough in the ride, but recalculating the XSS with the dropped fitness signature from that should if anything increase the XSS i’d of thought.

Any ideas what’s going on?

I think I got to the bottom of this. Looking at the data on Garmin I see a ~3 minute period where it looks like the power meter froze, constantly reporting the same value.

But in Xert, it seems like it spotted this was bogus data and dropped it

Guess I need to do an extra 30 XSS on my next ride :sweat_smile:
