If I schedule a workout in Xert, how far out will it show up on my Karoo EBC app? Grok says only up to 30 minutes in advance… I just had difficulty seeing one so that was 20 minutes out so I scheduled it for now and it finally appeared. Not sure if my app was misbehaving, but even if it is a 30 minute window, that seems really narrow. Could we make it user defined? Or make it something like multiple hours? Oversleeping or just the need for a little flexibility during the day often means I’m not starting precisely at the time I scheduled a training session. I’d have to imagine others have a similar approach…
The 30-minute window is Schedule function as a workout can be a group session where riders can join a session in warm-up mode waiting for the workout to start at the designated time.
To avoid that behavior, you can use Send to EBC before starting EBC on the Karoo.
That is also the way to alter a selection at the last minute to override a pre-scheduled workout on the Planner.
Or use Choose Workout/Send to EBC when ready to train. Or do you prefer to schedule specific workouts in advance?
My issue is specifically with regards to workouts I schedule in advance. When I originally sent my post I couldn’t get workouts to show up on EBC on my Karoo. But now I just tested one with a start time 1hr from now and it showed up - so not only did it immediately show up (unlike when I originally tried), it also showed up when it was outside the 30min till start time limit that I thought was built into EBC.
All that said, I guess I’m not even sure at this point if I have an issue or suggestion. But I definitely don’t understand how and when certain workouts get to the top of the Workouts list in EBC on a Karoo…
From the today page, send (or re-send) a workout to EBC. It should be shown at the top of the list in the EBC app (Android, iOS, or Karoo!)
Got it! I’ll start doing that when I don’t see the workout I’m expecting. Thanks.
I had a similar question on how to get magic buckets to show up on the Karoo. Is this the right way also for that?
My Karoo app shows a static number for my magic buckets that hasn’t changed since the start of the year so I’m obviously not syncing it properly for each days workout levels.
Hi @mulicheng ,
Can you try launching the Xert EBC extension while you’re in network/WiFi range? Pull down refresh, then start an activity. You should see the XSS targets in the recording screen align with the targets shown on the web app.
If the targets still aren’t aligned, send a note to our support team so we can take a closer look.
Cheers,
Scott
Ok so nothing I could do with swiping down would get it to refresh. It didn’t show the right targets but it also didn’t show my current power targets or training status correctly. So… I was able to go to the settings page and log out and log back in and that fixed it to be synced with today’s data.
I’ll see if it starts staying up to date now on the next ride I guess.
Thanks for the input.
