I have a target set on Xert and intend to choose my session on the day based on “Recommendations” section of website.
I have an iPhone, Kikr Bike and a Mac in the room with me.
Xertonlibe is clearly where all the dev effort goes. It feels like someone has lost the password for the iOS and Play Store it’s so long since the mobile app has changed!
To get the most out of Xert sessions should I be starting them from the iOS app or from xertonline running in Safari on a Mac?
You’re right, iOS app is in need of some updates! It’s on our radar!
You can select & record a workout from the Xert EBC iOS app & the data can be remotely displayed in Safari on your Mac using the remote player/video player!
I believe some newer apple devices (M1 chip) can download/install mobile apps on them. I have tested installing the Xert EBC app onto my MacBook Air, pairing sensors, & running the workout directly from my laptop - it did work last I checked. Not sure if your Mac specifically would support it.
All the main training features are on XO.
Start at XO (xertonline.com) preferably on a desktop/laptop for best viewing.
On the Training page you can select a workout with Play Now. Or you can schedule one in advance on the Planner.
After you schedule or select a workout on XO run EBC on your phone to execute and control that workout. If scheduled note the Start time as EBC won’t show the scheduled workout unless you start EBC within 30 minutes of Start time.
You can optionally select the Remote or Session Player page on XO to view the workout running on EBC. This provides an expanded rainbow gauge, power chart, and stats panel view.
Gave it a go today with the iPhone app playing on my MacBook on top of TrainingPeaks Virtual. Worked like a charm! No issue having my Garmin Vector pedals or Wahoo Kickr used by both apps at the same time. I did forget to tell TrainingPeaks Virtual not to try and control the Wahoo for gradient changes but the Xert app seemingly maintained control the entire time except for a few blips during the warm up and cool down. That said, I know what to do next time to keep TPV from trying to control things so it shouldn’t be an issue going forward.
