Impact of runs on form/freshness

Forgive me if this has been answered already, but are runs factored into the form/freshness calculations, say using HR or pace?

Nope. Xert only looks at power. If you want your runs to be logged you need a running power meter like the Stryd. However, since your running and cycling power signature will be different you’ll also need a separate xert account as they haven’t managed to integrate the two yet.
