I typically play ice hockey once per week. I wear a chest strap HRM for it. I think the training and load for it comparies fairly similarly with an interval type workout.
I record with garmin, should I upload it and mark it as cycling and enable heart rate XSS estimations? It seems likely that I would want to manually tweak the values after the fact but I am curious what other’s thoughts are.
Cycling is frequently used as low impact and injury risk cross training and I feel like the short high intensity fitness from hockey translates very well to cycling. I don’t think hockey provides much of any low XSS however.
