I’m in CX season currently. Frequent races (although not that frequent around here, with a few extended 2-3 week gaps). I was interested in using Xert to see if I could optimise my use of this quite unstructured schedule!
I had expected to be able to place races in the calendar, flagged as such, and have the training optimise around them. I don’t really have A or B races (it’s all just local league), but if I did I could imagine that also been useful to determine the level of readiness required leading into the race.
Is there an actual way to do this, or even close? Or do I just need to plan a “race” workout on the right days (and also the openers I always do the day before)?
If you have an Xert Forecast AI (XFAI) plan, you can use the ‘select training’ option to select a previous CX race (maybe favourite an old one to use as a placeholder) and then ‘PIN’ it to your forecast. The next time that you adapt your forecast, Xert will adjust the training around those pinned activities, ensuring that you arrive fresh (blue stars) at the start line!
If you’re using Xert Adaptive Training Advisor (Continuous Improvement, Base-Build-Peak options), then you’ll need to be a bit more involved - if you know that your race starts on Sunday, you’ll want to manually choose endurance workouts (or an opener workout) the days leading up to your race so your form will be fresh (blue stars) on the planner. Fortunately the fitness planner allows you to view your projected forum based on any workouts/activities that you plan in to the planner.
I’m running a new XFAI program (started Nov 18) and have some competitions schedule for Fev and created a manual activity and I want to PIN them, but the pin botton just isn’t there.
I figured out what I was doing wrong, I should have created a manual activity in the Forecast Recovery box, it’s done and PINNED . Now I need to adapt the Forecast so that the circle turns green.
