Just wondering how peak power is calculated? Is it over a certain time duration eg. 5 seconds or is it just your maximum 1 second power.
Reason is my PP is 928 but on a ride today I hit 1000w so I presumed my PP would be that.
Thanks in advance

Great question! Peak Power (PP) in Xert is based on your best 1-second power, but extremely short efforts - especially if they’re not part of an extended sprint - might be ignored. This is intentional to help filter out random spikes or power meter errors that could throw off your fitness signature.
If you’re confident that the 1000 W was a legitimate effort, you can head to the bottom of the activity details page, enter 1000 as your Peak Power, and hit SAVE. That’ll update your signature accordingly.
Hope that helps! ![]()
Thanks Scott
Then it makes me wonder why Xert says my PP is 1071w. The highest number I ever reached according to Zwift, ZwiftPower, Intervals, Strava during race/training is 990w. I am fighting to break the 1000W barrier as it is my goal this year but I have never been able to do it yet to my knowledge.
