How Can Xert's Training Stress Be Balanced with a Work Life Schedule?

Hello everyone,

I have been using Xert for a few months now & I m loving how it customizes my training. I m struggling a bit with balancing the suggest training stress with my busy work life schedule. Some weeks, it is tough to hit all the suggestion workouts due to long work hours and family commitments. I do not want to lose progress but I also need to find a sustainable balance.

Has anyone here faced a similar challenge? How do you manage when your week gets too busy? Is it better to lower the intensity or reduce the frequency of workouts?

Also, how does missing a workout or two impact your training load and fitness signature in the long run?

As well, I found these resources when doing research on this; https://forum.xertonline.com/t/planned-training-without-considering-my-past-schedulecloud engineer & if anyone have any resources, tutorials or personal experiences please share with me, It would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you…… :grinning:

What are your current Program dialog box settings?
Example, Continuous ATP with Slow Improvement Rate or an XFAI Forecast for a Goal or Event.
In general Xert will adapt to whatever you decide to do.
Use Select Duration above suggested workouts list if you have more or less time to train today.
Consistency is key but missing a day or two during the week won’t matter in the long run.
Depending on ATP setup and your current form, extra days off will return you to Fresh and HIT will be recommended unless you’re in Base phase following a 120-Day Program.

Make yourself aware that fitness is just the sum of what you did during the last very few months and nothing you “can keep”. Use it or lose it, and that goes particularly fast in endurance. So there can’t be contineous progress anyways. At one point you will try to maintain what you have while in other occasions you will lose some and need to rebuild later.
Find the amount of training which works for you in a sustainable way.

In xert you moderate that with the ramp rate setting.

Hi,

I always try to keep in mind that my body is able to accept only certain amount of stress. The stress is resulting not only from the training load, but also from other physical and mental activities, sickness etc. So if life is putting some extra stress on me, then I need to reduce the training load to stay in balance. Personally, I prefer to reduce the intensity of workouts, as I value consistency a lot. But I also have no problem to skip training day, if the life was hitting hard
