Force long ride on Sunday

I like to do my long ride on Sunday so I have set my availability for that day at 4 hours (‘fixed’). However, the Forecast AI usually only gives me a 1 hour workout on Sunday. I would like to force it to give me a longer workout, while still letting it decide what intensity it should be. So I can’t use the manual option to plan a 4 hour ride, because then I also have to pick an intensity myself.

Is there a way to do this?

Set a workout manually by either estimating intensity or using a past workout as an example, pin it, then adapt forecast.

That’s not exactly what I want. I want to force Xert to use all 4 hours that I have available, but I want the system to determine the optimal intensity for the ride (if I pin a ride, I force it to plan around the intensity of that ride).

Set 4 hour availability for Sunday and click Adapt Forecast.

That is indeed what I have tried, but for some reason Xert regularly schedules a 1-2 hour workout on Sunday instead of 4 hours.

Is it just Sunday this it’s not using your availability setting? Try resetting and then reassigning your availability. Send support@xertonline.com an email if you’re still not seeing a plan that gives you 4 hours on Sundays.

Also, there is a limit to how much training you can do that the system will manage for you. If you were to add 7 hours of availability everyday, you’re not going to get 7 hours of training everyday (thank goodness!).

I have reset my availability and I still get the same result.

My total availability throughout the week is quite a bit higher than my required total training hours. Perhaps the system then decides that it is more optimal to divide the hours evenly throughout the week? I would find it convenient to have an option to force it to plan a 4 hour ride on one day and then have the system plan around that day, as that is more optimal for me in terms of time commitment. I also think there are training benefits to having a long ride instead of several shorter sessions.
