Edit XSS on outdoor ride w/o power data

I did an outdoor ride on my gravel bike, which doesn’t have a power meter. The ride is uploaded from Garmin to Xert but the XSS seems to be set to 0. How can I manually update the XSS so it reflects the effort I did?

You could activate the Heart Rate Derived Metrics in settings under profile (last tab). That way Xert will estimate your power and all derived metrics like XSS from heart rate (and cadence) if you have those on record for both activities with power and without power data. Can be fairly accurate if the activities are similar.

Ah! Great! Exactly what I was looking for. Big thanks for your help.

Hi,

thanks for sharing this. This helped me today!

Great hint on the heart rate XSS estimation.

On a related topic, I had a ride where the power data wasn’t recorded by my garmin for the first 25% of the ride, so I want to make an estimated update to the ride XSS.

in the older UI, I could edit the XSS for an activity using the “Modify” button in the Planner. I don’t see any way to do that now.

Modify button is still there for some activities, I’m unsure when it does/doesn’t show. I had a ride last week where my Garmin didn’t connect to sensors, so just had GPS and estimated calories.

From my history of activities, a general guide for me is 10 calories = 1 xss for a regular social ride outdoors. Not perfect, but generally it’s within 20% accuracy.
