Does xert strip lap markers that are created automatically while executing a workout on a Garmin Edge device

Hey all, I know laps are not a thing in xert, not going to get into all that.

I know in the past that Xert would not preserve laps made on the device when it sent the workout over to Strava. That was addressed thankfully.

Today I did a structured workout outside and the lap markers were made automatically by the Edge 1050 as I was progressing through the workout. The laps are visible in WKO5, they’re visible in Garmin Connect, but by the time the ride got to Strava, there are no laps.

So the question is, are these laps not preserved by Xert as it sends the file on down the road?

Thanks

Hi Patrick, I don’t often look at laps myself, but did check some of my latest outdoor rides (from Garmin) with lap data to be sure and everything looked normal to me

I could see all 39 Laps in Xert (Advanced Stats > Laps):

And I could also see the laps in Strava (39 total):

Note that I have my account set up such that Garmin Activities go to Xert first, and then to Strava - I have Garmin > Strava disabled.

Yeah on my ride today the laps survived. I’m wondering if the laps created by the garmin edge automatically because they’re part of a workout are treated differently. It’s really not a big deal but now I’m curious. I have the same setup where the file path is garmin to xert, xert to garmin, garmin to strava disabled
