Hi guys, I’ve started training with Xert using Forecast AI with a 3-month goal to increase my 20-minute power.
My fitness signature shows a “Polar Sprint Time-Triallist” rider type, which is giving me obviously wrong workouts. They’re too anaerobic, with very little threshold work, and generally not effective for my objective.
I’d like to change my rider type from Polar Sprint Time-Triallist to Climber so I can get more threshold-focused workouts. I’ve looked everywhere, but the methods to change the rider type don’t seem to be available anymore with the new interface.
Thanks!
Fitness Signature is your calculated Peak Power, HIE and TP values.
Athlete Type (Focus Duration) selection is determined by the type of Event or what you define under an XFAI Goal.
To change the Focus for a Goal, go to Program tab, Modify Plan, change slider to Climber (10 minute power), and re-run the forecast.
However, before doing that what do you mean by “wrong workouts; too anaerobic”?
Post a screenshot of your Planner with some examples of what you consider as wrong.
Xert does not use traditional zones in their model and workout design reflects that.
All progressions (XATA or XFAI) are going to include HIT days with some high/peak strain.
Sprint Time-Trialist with Polar Specificity will include the least amount of high/peak during the term. Sliding to the left (ex. Climber/10 min power) will increase the High and Peak values.
If you want the most amount of sub-TP training, leave the Goal set to Sprint TT/Polar.
ff you want to further tweak the forecast you can do that through the selections you make amongst recommended lists. For example, if you prefer traditional tempo/sweetspot workouts on LIT days, or wish to lower difficulty on HIT days, you can choose to do that. You can also change General settings such as Periodization or Polarization and update the forecast to modify the distribution of LIT/HIT and intensity.
I suggest following the forecast as is for a few weeks before you decide the default Xert settings won’t work well for you. You can tweak the plan at any time
