Hi all! You might have noticed we have posted a BETA Version of Dashboard and Magic Buckets. We’ve worked hard to address some issues, refined some internal math, and added some big features. These data fields are BETA. Meaning they are under test and subject to change. Just a few tips for anyone that would like to give them a try.
You can install both the regular version & Beta version of the data fields on your Garmin if you’d like… each field generates a random and unique key. So you will have to register the BETA versions, but then you can run them concurrently, if you’d like. Below are the proposed changes so far:
XDB (Xert Dashboard)
- XSS L/H/P was presented on the top row, but was removed since we offer this in XMB. You now have more cells to use for your choice of metrics.
- MET is a new metric we’ve added. Max Effort Time. You can read about it here: Maximal Effort Time – Xert
- Bioshift Cadence is completely revised.
- Pedal Time is another new metric that measures time with Power > 0. Eliminating stop AND coasting time. Under your XERT profile you can tell XERT you prefer Elapsed, Moving or Pedal Time for some metrics like XEP.
- Wind presents a wind speed and dynamic and colored arrow with the relative wind direction -vs- your direction of travel. We are monitoring the update frequency we get from weather stations. In the Summary page on 10x0 devices, you’ll see the avg and max seconds since the last update. This is a temporary test metric. We want to see if we’re getting updates at an acceptable frequency. Hopefully every few minutes.
XMB (Xert Magic Buckets)
- Some additional tweaks to workout power levels
- MAJOR: we now credit your prior workout XSS actuals as you start another workout the same day!! *
*IMPORTANT NOTE:
The values might be a little different than you expect. Here is why, to anticipate questions. Say your XFAI Forecast for today is 121XLSS and the Scheduled workout is 115XLSS. You knock out a workout with 80XLSS. You want to finish later. You start XMB in the afternoon. You may see an XLSS credit of 75 (the server sometimes recalculates your actuals). Your LOW Bucket will be pre-filled! But you’ll see a target of 121, since it now presents the day’s Forecast (no Scheduled workout exists). So you’ll have 46XLSS left to achieve (not the 35 you might have expected). Hope that makes sense.
