Adapt Forecast - What is going on here

So I set up an XFAI plan yesterday for a century ride. It created a few months worth of a plan. I did the endurance ride for day one it prescribed, and saw that the next couple of days are rest days before starting some harder workouts.

Fine so far… I then come back today and notice it is showing me a recovery ride instead of rest. Not sure why it changed anything and why it waited overnight to do this… But ok… I noticed my weight was set wrong, so I went into my profile and corrected it. Then I decided I should adapt my plan, perhaps the weight would change something…

It just changed it to recommend TODAY a 150 XSS ride. WHY? It just told me I needed a rest day, then overnight it changed to a 40 XSS recovery ride, and now it wants me to do a 3.5 star ride when the former plan didn’t have a ride like this for weeks.

I am yet to have a smooth go at Xert honestly and I growing frustrated.

Recovery ride would be recommended if form remained red into next day or you just completed a ride with sufficient strain.
If viewing Planner or Training page on a desktop, refresh browser to ensure you’re not viewing cached content.
If viewing on a phone, switch browser to desktop view if you want to see form gradient changes by the week.
Adapt Forecast rebalances the upcoming week or adjusts further into the future if there are broken constraints that require that action.
There’s no need to run Adapt unless a red dot warning appears which alerts you that you may want to run the routine. If you do run it without the warning dot, the deck of cards (HIT, LIT, Rest) is reshuffled within confines of the forecast settings and your availability.
Many roads to Rome especially when you are months away from a target date. Possible detours narrow as you get closer to that date.
To conceptualize your plan, go to Program tab and view each key separately like this image shows.

Note the overall week to week trends and progression.
Review the delta tables (Table View under Program tab) for Training Load and Fitness Signature. That’s what matters. Which figures are trending upward during the term of your forecast?
You don’t lose the flexibility of XATA when you choose XFAI. The forecast provides a framework. You fill in details along the way.
Day to day can and will change depending on what you decide to do and how closely you adhere to the forecast, plus how often the plan is adjusted (Adapt) or recast (change in settings).
