5 day training camp upcoming that contravenes Forecast AI training plan

Hey all,

I’ve searched and read a handful of somewhat related posts on this but I can’t find a clear plan of action so I am asking here.

Forecast AI training plan goal is to improve 3 minute power and training matches what you’d expect.

But next week I am going to be doing 5 days, 4-6 hours a day in the mountains.

Should I:

Just adapt the forecast after I’ve done each ride?

Set time availability for each day and choose the type of “workout” the day might match?

What’s the best way to handle totally disregarding the Forecast AI training plan in the worst possible way for a short period of time?

Whenever I’ve had a similar break I ignore Xert and just do what every riding I want.

For example, Christmas last year I had two weeks away from work and had a lot more time to ride. I did the Festive 500 and my actually activity time went up to 17 hours a week rather than my usual 10-12 hours. It was all endurace pace too.

You’ll get some red circles becasue your activity won’t allign with the plan but clicking ADAPT FORECAST when finished the training camp will sort out the schedule.

That’s the way I do it, anyway. We’re not robots. Sometimes when the weather is nice you just gotta ignore the plan go.

I’d probably choose Adapt Forecast when the red dot warning appears. That doesn’t mean I’d accept the changes yet, but I’d verify where broken constraints are appearing and why.
At the completion of the camp I’d run Adapt Forecast and Save changes. Or I might select Run Forecast to update the remaining portion of the plan especially if the camp resulted in a significant fitness change.
In both scenarios I can see what will change before committing.

If it was me I’d check what AI wanted me to do on each day and if possible at least try and do the high & peak intensities prescribed for that day but not sweat it if I couldn’t. Adapt Forecast every day to see what it thinks I should be doing. Rinse & Repeat

Yeah that sounds like a good approach thanks
